We've already warned you about what to expect tomorrow, Jordan. No one's going to be pulling any punches with you, or taking it easy on you, during the time you're with us.*quot;But we told that we'd give you a fighting chance to make it through successfully, and we meant it,*quot; continued Tiffany. *quot;Dee Dee's got a pill for you to take, which will give you some help.*quot;Dee Dee handed Jordan a pill that was a dark red color, and a glass of water. *quot;Just wash this down, Jordan. By the time you're ready for the Main Event tomorrow, it'll be completely absorbed in your bloodstream, and you'll be as ready as you'll ever be.*quot;Jordan did as she was told, and swallowed the pill. *quot;I've been trying to just do my duties in the kitchen like you said, and not be too conspicuous. That Network monitoring software that Dee Dee and I installed was able to tell me that much about whatever it is that she's up to.*quot;*quot;Isn't there anything we can do to stop this?*quot; asked Tiffany.*quot;About the only thing I can think of would be to reboot the router, and bring the Network up and down,*quot; said Dee Dee. *quot;Not only would that be a lot of work, just before we need to be fresh and ready for the Main Event tomorrow. It would also tip Barocca off that we're on to her.*quot;*quot;The way I see it,*quot; said Ebony, *quot;is that Barocca's either involved in some kind of a marathon on-line gaming tournament; or she's getting the mother of all downloads from some-where out there.*quot;*quot;I'm inclined to believe it's 'games' all right,*quot; said Tiffany. *quot;And I don't think it's going to be any type of game that we're going to like. We've been trying to play things quietly, and not make a major scene until we absolutely have to. And from what you and Clyda have said about her, we're really anxious too.*quot;Dee Dee knew that Ebony might suspect something if she remained in the same room with the three of them, with atmosphere so tense before the Main Event, and she took the initiative.*quot;I tell you what, Ebony. I think I know a couple of tricks that might let us free up some more bandwidth on the Network, or maybe even let us find out some more about all the stuff that Barocca's been downloading. Let's go take a look at the Network before we call it a night, and see if there isn't anything that we can do about it.*quot;*quot;Sounds good to me, Dee Dee,*quot; said Ebony. *quot;See you tomorrow, girls.*quot;Dee Dee and Ebony strolled across the corridors until they entered the Network room, and Dee Dee turned on the small monitor used for viewing the applications on the server.*quot;That's funny. Things are back to normal now,*quot; said Ebony. All of the usage levels and indicators on the software reported normal activity. Dee Dee had seen the abnormally high activity in the last days too, so she knew Ebony hadn't been mistaken.*quot;Well, whatever Barocca was doing, it's finished now,*quot; said Dee Dee. *quot;I guess we don't have any choice but to just play things the way they are, and see what unfolds.*quot;
